The College of Graduate Studies (CGS) at Walailak University (WU) held a contract signing event for graduate students for the first semester of the 2024 academic year. The event took place in the Suniphon Meeting Room on the first floor of Academic Building 9 on June 25, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This initiative is part of the Walailak University Graduate Scholarships program.
The ceremony was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charan Bunyakan, Vice President and Chairperson of the Graduate Scholarship Allocation Committee. He represented the scholarship providers and extended his congratulations to the recipients and their advisors. Following his congratulatory message, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charan Bunyakan invited the scholarship recipients and their advisors to engage in discussions to foster closer relationships.
In this round, 15 students were awarded scholarships across three categories:
- Fully Funded Scholarships for doctoral students,
- Full Tuition Fee Waiver for master’s students and
- Tuition Fee Waiver for those receiving scholarships from other organizations, including students awarded scholarships from the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA).
Next, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phongpichit Channuie, Dean of CGS, and Dr. Somruethai Bouyam, CGS staff, provided an overview of the key terms of the scholarship contract and the procedures for submitting progress reports and finalizing the scholarship upon graduation. Recipients were encouraged to thoroughly understand the agreement and ask any questions to ensure clarity before signing. This ensured that all recipients were fully informed about the terms, benefits, and responsibilities associated with their scholarships.
