The College of Graduate Studies (CGS) has officially kicked off the Academic Year 2026 with its postgraduate orientation for Semester 1. Held on June 9, 2026, at the Khao Luang Chamber, Cooperative Building, the event served as a comprehensive launchpad for our new master’s and doctoral students as they enter the world of advanced research at Walailak University.
The ceremony began with a supportive opening speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mullica Jaroensutasinee, Vice President for Academic Affairs for Science and Technology. In a meaningful gesture to build early academic bonds, new students were presented with traditional Thai welcome garlands by the Vice President alongside their respective thesis advisors. Following this warm welcome, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phongpichit Channuie, Dean of CGS, shared his vision and encouraged the new cohort to push the boundaries of innovation and academic publication during their time at with the CGS at Walailaik University.
To equip our students with the right tools from day one, CGS collaborated with university support centers to deliver essential toolkits to students:
· Educational Guidelines by Dr. Somruethai Bouyam (CGS)
· Enrolment & Registrations by Ms. Thanyalak Pansimai (Center for Educational Services, CES)
· IT Infrastructure & Services by Dr. Premrudee Noonsang (Center for Digital Innovation, CDI)
· Databases & Library Resources by Dr. Kanitsorn Suriyapaiboonwattana (Center for Library Resources and Educational Media, CLM)
Our new students also gained firsthand insights from senior peers during an inspirational talk by Ph.D. candidates, Ms. Jittaporn Sisawang and Mr. Temesgen Anjulo Ageru, which was brilliantly moderated by Mr. Peeradon Sriwichit, CGS officer. The day wrapped up beautifully with an exciting Mini Campus Tour and a networking lunch at the Sirin Museum.
