On May 22–23, 2026, DJMP, Walailak University, organized the 1st “Southern Region Journal Community Workshop” at the Hua Taphan Meeting Room, Walailak University Hospital, Walailak University.

This event aimed to build networks and strengthen journal communities across the region through a variety of activities held over 2 days. These included lessons learned from the firsthand experiences of Walailak University’s journals — covering pathways to Scopus indexing and the journey from local to international journals — as well as SWOT analyses of individual journals and readiness assessments based on the TCI–Scopus Pre-selection Criteria. In-depth workshops were also conducted on editorial team management and effective collaboration with international reviewers and authors.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all lecturers, experts, and participants who joined us in sharing knowledge and building a strong academic network. We wish every academic journal in the Southern Region continued growth and success on the path toward international recognition. 👏✨
