New Year Kickoff

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, January 9, 2026 – The College of Graduate Studies (CGS) at Walailak University launched its 2026 operational year with a unique blend of strategic planning and a “Children’s Day” themed team-building event. The initiative was designed to foster internal harmony and ignite a fresh, creative spirit among staff members before diving into the year’s rigorous academic missions.

Led by the Dean of the CGS, Associate Professor Dr.Phongpichit Channuie, the event combined the January monthly meeting with festive activities aimed at strengthening professional relationships through a playful, nostalgic lens.

The highlight of the morning was the team-building session under the theme “Back to Childhood.” Staff members across all departments traded formal attire for school uniforms and nostalgic childhood outfits. This theme was intentionally chosen to:

  • Break Down Hierarchies: The playful dress code encouraged approachable communication between executives and staff.
  • Encourage Creativity: By embracing the “Children’s Day” spirit, the team was encouraged to think outside the box—a vital trait for driving innovation in graduate education.
  • Strengthen Bonds: A lively New Year gift exchange and themed activities allowed team members to connect on a personal level, building the trust necessary for high-stakes collaboration.

With the team energized and united, the afternoon transitioned into the official January 2026 Strategic Meeting. The executive team harnessed this positive momentum to outline the roadmap for the college’s core pillars:

  • Strategic Recruitment: Aligning the team to proactively attract top-tier graduate students globally.
  • Curriculum Advancement: Collaborative review of graduate programs to ensure global competitiveness.
  • Scholarly Impact: Driving the excellence of academic journals to enhance the university’s research profile.

“Team building is the foundation of our success,” the Dean remarked during the session. “By celebrating Children’s Day together, we’ve recaptured the energy and curiosity needed to tackle our complex missions. When our team is connected and happy, we can deliver extraordinary results for our students and the global academic community.”

The College of Graduate Studies at Walailak University continues to prioritize a supportive and vibrant workplace culture, recognizing that a strong, cohesive team is the primary engine behind its international academic achievements.
