Walailak University’s Engagement at the Indonesia Global Education Fair 2024
Assistant Professor Dr. Shubham Pathak, the assistant dean for international affairs of College of Graduate Studies (CGS) at Walailak University (WU) proudly represented Walailak University as an exhibitor at the Indonesia Global Education Fair 2024, held from 19–20 October 2024. The event, a prominent platform for showcasing educational opportunities, provided Walailak University with the chance to highlight its diverse graduate programs and foster global collaborations. Dr. Pathak engaged with prospective students and partners, emphasizing the university’s dedication to academic excellence, research opportunities, and its welcoming environment for international students.
Fostering Thai-Indonesian Educational Collaboration
On 21 October 2024, representatives from Thai universities, including Mahasarakham University, Walailak University, and Kirk University, convened with H.E. the Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia at the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta. The meeting was an important step toward enhancing bilateral educational ties between Thailand and Indonesia.

Dual Degree/Double Degree Programs: Opportunities for Thai and Indonesian institutions to collaborate in offering joint academic credentials.
Halal Food Practices in Curriculum Development: Integrating cultural and religious sensitivity into educational offerings.
Scholarship Opportunities: Exploring funding through TICA (Thailand International Cooperation Agency) and embassy-supported programs to attract talented students.
The dialogue underscored the shared commitment of Thailand and Indonesia to strengthen cooperation in higher education, particularly in academic exchanges, research partnerships, and joint initiatives.
This initiative reflects Walailak University’s strategic focus on internationalization, aiming to recruit more international students and build sustainable academic partnerships. By participating in global events and fostering diplomatic collaboration, Walailak University continues to position itself as a hub for innovative education and cross-cultural learning.
