Training for Citation and Turnitin 2024

On Friday, September 13, 2024, College of Graduate Studies (CGS), Walailak University (WU) in collaboration with the Center for Library Resources and Educational Media (CLM), hosted an online workshop titled “Citation Principles and Turnitin Usage to Prevent Plagiarism” via Zoom Cloud Meeting.

The workshop featured two expert speakers: Mrs. Aporn Chaisuwan and Miss Nassara Jampaklai, both librarians at  CLM at WU. The session aimed to enhance awareness among researchers about the significance of proper citation to avoid unintentional plagiarism.

Ms. Aporn Chaisuwan began the session by covering essential topics such as quotation, paraphrasing, and referencing in APA 7th edition style. She also demonstrated how to use EndNote, a reference management tool, to streamline the citation process.

Following her presentation, Miss Nassara Jampaklai provided an overview of Turnitin, the software used by the university to detect plagiarism. She demonstrated how to use Turnitin for checking and interpreting results.

The event attracted 85 participants, including participants from Walailak University, Kasetsart University, Prince of Songkla University, Songkhla Rajabhat University, Kanchanaburi Rajabhat University, and Yala Rajabhat University, etc.

The organizing team hopes that this workshop will provide valuable insights and support to students, faculty, and interested individuals in their research endeavors.
