Tennis ball shooter – A low-budget product made by Walailak researchers

Tennis class with a large number of students requires equipments to facilitate learning activities. However, due to a budget limitation, high-priced tennis equipments are implausible in some cases, especially in urban areas. Moreover, a tennis ball shooting machine must be connected to the power cord and has to be placed into a tennis court. Therefore, a team of research innovators at Walailak University led by Dr. Luckhana Pimjan decided to build a low-cost tennis ball shooter equipped with batteries and a wireless remote. This invention is proven to be more convenient for the users and reduces importing high-priced equipments from abroad.

การเรียนการสอนวิชาเทนนิสที่มีผู้เรียนจำนวนมากจำเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่ต้องมีเครื่องมือและอุปกรณ์ช่วยส่งเสริมการรียนรู้ แต่ด้วยงบประมาณที่มีจำกัดจึงไม่สามารถสั่งซื้อเครื่องมือและอุปกรณ์ในการส่งลูกเทนนิสในราคาสูงได้ อีกทั้งยังมีปัญหาจากการที่เครื่องยิงลูกเทนนิสที่ต้องต่อสายไฟเพื่อเปิดใช้งานทำให้ต้องลากสายไฟเข้าไปในสนามเทนนิสซึ่งไม่สะดวกต่อการเรียนการสอน รวมถึงระบบการทำงานของเครื่องแบบธรรมดาในการสั่งงานทำให้ใช้งานไม่สะดวก ดังนั้นทีมผู้วิจัยนำโดย อ.ดร.ลัคนา พิมพ์จันทร์ จึงร่วมกันคิดค้นสร้างเครื่องยิงลูกเทนนิสที่มีต้นทุนการผลิตต่ำเพื่อเป็นการประหยัดงบประมาณ ลดการนำเข้าสินค้าจากต่างประเทศ มีโปรแกรมใช้งานได้ดี สะดวกโดยไม่ต้องลากสายไฟเข้าในสนาม สั่งงานด้วยรีโมท และส่งเสริมทักษะการเรียนรู้ของผู้เรียนและผู้เล่นกีฬาเทนนิส

The tennis ball shooter is able to continually launch 15 balls per minute approximately. The accuracy of reaching target area is at 95%. It is convenient for outdoor use due to its wireless. Also, the operation is easily regulated by a remote control. A tennis coach can choose the random shooting program for player to practice the swing patterns, or choose a manual mode to particularly train for certain shot. The device can save human energy and reduce unnecessary work force, as well as allow individuals or teams to drill or practice tennis skill.

เครื่องยิงลูกเทนนิสสามารถส่งลูกได้ต่อเนื่องประมาณ 15 ลูกต่อนาที และมีความแม่นยำสูงถึง 95 เปอร์เซ็นต์ ในการส่งลูกเทนนิสให้ตกในบริเวณที่กำหนด เครื่องยิงลูกเทนนิสนี้มีการใช้งานสะดวกไม่ต้องลากสายไฟ และสามารถใช้รีโมทต์ในการสั่งงาน กำหนดความเร็ว และมุมในการส่งลูกเทนนิสได้ตามความต้องการ เหมาะกับการฝึกซ้อมทั้งคนเดียวและเป็นกลุ่มผู้เรียนมาก
