On 10 August 2026, a delegation from the College of Graduate Studies, Walailak University (CGS), paid a study visit to the Walailak University’s International College of Dentistry (WUICD) in Bangkok, Thailand.
The delegation was led by Assoc Prof Dr Apirak Payaka, Acting Vice Dean; and included Asst Prof Dr Wachiraporn Poungjinda, Assistant Dean for International Affairs; Asst Prof Dr Darunee Bunkrong, Assistant Dean for Chinese Strategic Graduate Studies and Educational Cooperation; together with CGS officers.
The visit was convened as a knowledge-exchange session on the administration of graduate programmes, allowing CGS and the WUICD to compare working practices at both institutional and programme level.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Assoc Prof Dr Poonsak Pisek, Dean of the WUICD; Assoc Prof Dr Irin Sirisoontorn, Acting Associate Dean for Administration; together with WUICD department heads, lecturers, and personnel.
Discussion covered three areas: the development of the college’s graduate curriculum, its approach to student admissions and promotion, and the internal management of its academic staff. The WUICD is studying the feasibility of opening a Higher Graduate Diploma in Orthodontics and to admit master’s students annually rather than in alternate years. The two sides also considered how the college’s academic base might be broadened in line with demand among its stakeholders.
