On April 3, 2026, the Center for Digital Journal Management and Multidisciplinary Academic Platform (DJMP), Walailak University, hosted a study visit from the Journal of Health Science and Medical Research (JHSMR), Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University, at Meeting Room AD 3411, Architecture and Design Building. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phongpichit Channuie, Dean of the Graduate School, welcomed the delegation, led by Dr. Somyot Chirasatitsin, Technical Associate Editor of JHSMR, for a knowledge-exchange session on international academic journal management.
The visit aimed to foster academic collaboration and share journal management expertise between the two institutions, focusing on elevating journal quality to international standards and strengthening the efficiency of academic publishing operations.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phongpichit Channuie, Editor-in-Chief of Trends in Sciences (TiS) and Trends in Routine to Research (TR2R), delivered a special lecture titled “Academic Journal Management at Walailak University: An Overview of Trends in Sciences Journal.” The session covered operational strategies, journal system management techniques, and pathways toward international indexing, followed by an open Q&A with the visiting team.
In the afternoon, Dr. Somyot Chirasatitsin and the editorial team of the Prince of Songkla University presented overviews of JHSMR and the PSU Medical Journal (PSUMJ). Representatives from Walailak University’s Asia Social Issues (ASI) and Asian Journal of Arts and Culture (AJAC) also shared their journal profiles, sparking a wide-ranging discussion on management approaches across diverse academic disciplines.
The event marks a meaningful step in deepening the partnership between Walailak University and Prince of Songkla University, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening Thai academic journals and advancing their recognition on the international stage.
