Walailak University continues to expand its academic collaboration in the Lao PDR, fostering strong connections to support graduate-level education for Lao students.
On March 24, 2025, Asst.Prof.Dr. Wachiraporn Poungjinda, Assistant Dean for International Affairs at the College of Graduate Studies, paid a courtesy visit to the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane. She met with H.E. Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi to introduce Walailak University and seek guidance on promoting graduate opportunities for Lao nationals. The Ambassador highlighted high-demand fields in Laos such as environmental management, IT, nursing, and health sciences—valuable insights that will help the university shape its programs to meet regional needs.
Dr. Wachiraporn also visited the National University of Laos and met with Mr. Bounsouang Panhgnathong, Deputy Director. They explored possible collaborations, student exchange programs, and scholarship opportunities. Mr. Bounsouang expressed strong interest in future academic partnerships.
Continuing this momentum, on March 25, 2025, Dr. Wachiraporn, accompanied by Miss Sujinda Youngjeen, visited Souphanouvong University in Luang Prabang. The delegation met with Dr. Sangkhom Inthapanya, Head of the Academic Affairs Office, and faculty members to discuss Walailak University’s graduate programs and scholarships for international students. The meeting focused on potential collaboration in academic exchange, joint research, and student outreach.
These visits underscore Walailak University’s commitment to deepening educational cooperation with Laos and enhancing its role as a regional hub for graduate studies in ASEAN.
