On July 18, 2024, the College of Graduate Studies (CGS), Walailak University (WU) organized a workshop titled “Increasing the Visibility of Scientific Research Through Graphic Design,” conducted via Zoom Cloud Meeting. The event was held in English to accommodate international students and facilitate their participation and open to external participants interested in enhancing their academic skills.

Associate Professor Dr. Phongpichit Channuie, the Dean of CGS, WU, welcomed the guest speaker, Associate Professor Dr. Teerapong Phuangmalai from Khon Kaen University. The event attracted 115 participants, including 51 graduate students, with 17 students from Walailak University and 37 students from other institutions such as Khon Kaen University, Rangsit University, Suranaree University of Technology, Prince of Songkla University, Silpakorn University, and Chiang Mai University.

Participants received insights and techniques on designing research illustrations using PowerPoint, and had the opportunity to practice drawing examples provided by the speaker. Additionally, they were introduced to other tools for creating research graphics, enhancing their skills in scientific visual communication.

We hope that all participants gained valuable knowledge that will benefit their future research projects.
