On September 12, 2026, the College of Graduate Studies, Walailak University, organized WU Grad Connect 2026 at Sea Stone Hotel, Sichon, Nakhon Si Thammarat, bringing together more than 50 Thai and international graduate students from diverse academic programs and research fields.
The event began with a welcome and greeting from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phongpichit Channuie, the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies, who encouraged students to build connections beyond their individual programs and research areas and become part of a stronger and more connected graduate community at Walailak University.
A key part of the event was the introduction of the Graduate Student Referral System, presented as a strategy to encourage students to connect with and support one another. The initiative aims to strengthen relationships within the graduate student community and create opportunities for students to share knowledge, experiences, and opportunities across different disciplines.
The program then continued with icebreaker activities, team games, and group activities designed to help students step outside their usual academic circles and get to know fellow graduate students from different backgrounds. Through teamwork, communication, and shared experiences, participants had opportunities to develop new friendships and meaningful connections.
More than simply a recreational activity, WU Grad Connect 2026 reflects the College of Graduate Studies’ commitment to fostering an inclusive and connected graduate community. By bringing students from different disciplines together, the event creates a space where they can learn from one another, exchange ideas, and grow together as members of the Walailak University community.
