Doctor of Philosophy Program in Health Sciences, Walailak University is an interdisciplinary program that provides advanced study and research training opportunities for a variety of areas of Health Sciences. This Program is a research-based degree leading to dissertations and publications. The Ph.D. program is constructed to provide students with an understanding of research principles and practices and skills to conduct independent basic and applied research. The students have the potential to collaborate with international research networks in the area of interest.

- The program is taught in accordance with the United Kingdom Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF). All lecturers in the program are certified for teaching standards and learning support.

- The program has prepared study and research plans for individual students and has a system and mechanism for supervising, following up, and helping students to be able to graduate within 3 academic years for students in types 1.1 and 2.1 and 4 academic years for students in types 1.2 and 2.2.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the qualifications outlined in Walailak University’s Regulations for Graduate Studies, Semester System (Biateral System), 2022 as follows:
For types 1.1 and types 2.1
- You must have completed a master’s degree or the equivalent in science or another related field. You could also be studying in your last semester of a master’s degree program or the equivalent in science or another related field.
- You must have a cumulative grade point average throughout their master’s degree studies of at least 3.50 or equivalent or have at least one research paper published in a journal accredited by the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC), or have other qualifications as approved by the graduate program committee of the program.
For types 1.2 and 2.2
- You must have a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in science or another related field. You could also be studying in your last semester of a bachelor’s degree program or the equivalent in science or another related field.
- You must have a cumulative grade point average throughout their bachelor’s degree studies of at least 3.00 or equivalent or have at least one research paper published in a journal accredited by the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC), or have other qualifications as approved by the graduate program committee of the program.
Applicants must meet the English proficiency test score requirements set by the committee of the College of Graduate Studies.
Tuition Fees
- 150,000 THB. per semester for Thai student
- 187,500 THB. per semester for International student

Graduation Requirements
Following Walailak University’s Regulations for Graduate Studies, Semester System (Biateral System), 2022:
- Passed the qualifying examination.
- Passed all courses in the curriculum.
- Type 2 students must have a cumulative grade point average of not less than 3.00.
- Passed the thesis defense examination and already submitted the completed thesis to the university.
- Published paper(s), or at least accepted for publication in an international journal.
